Because the tool is so hard it will not loose its cutting edge like other groove tools. The GROOVE SHARPENER is designed to remove metal from the side of the groove which produces the sharp edge.The GROOVE SHARPENER can be used on either end. It has two different cuttings sizes one size has a square end that measures .020 of a inch and the other side is has a V shape groove . You can cut a Square groove or a V shaped groove.
