NO RESERVE! You are bidding on an antique (19th century), brass cased holosteric barometer made by PHBN (Naudet-Pertuis-Hulot-Baromètres) in France and sold through Michael Rupp & Co. in New York. Paul Naudet, who was France’s premier barometer maker of the second half of the 19th century, marked his units with his marks “PNHB. The back of the case is marked with the letters PHBN in a circle. As you know, the brass will polish to look like new if that's what you want, or you can leave the natural patina. The thick beveled glass is perfect. I see no scratches, chips, or breaks anywhere,. There are no dents anywhere on the brass case. I don't know how to test these instruments so what you see is what you get. It measures approximately 5" across.
