Forslund Cermet Model 35 Screen Printer
For sale- a Forslund Cermet Model 35 Screen Printer Manufactured by Crystal Mark, Inc. The surplus site I purchased it from had the following to say about it- “Forslund Cermet Printer Model 35-00 screen printer is used in electronics and micro-electronics to make printed circuits. Machine is in working condition.” OK, I added the bold for emphasis. At this point I haven’t even picked the thing up yet, and I bought it without inspection, so I have only their description to go on. But given what it does the only testing I will do once I retrieve it is for power and I don’t expect that to be an issue.
So at this point the unit is totally untested by me and NO warranty is offered. However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed. Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested. As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk. If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways. If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it. In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.
I don’t have pictures available just yet, but it looks substantially identical the only other one being offered here on ebay, that one said to be refurbished. Mine has not been refurbished but as I am offering it here for just a bit more than half what they are asking that would leave several thousand dollars for parts or repair if it should require any. UPDATE: OK, now I have some pictures posted, but I still didn't get a chance to power it up. I don't expect that to be an issue. The ONLY thing I noticed in my first inpection is that the SQUEEGEE ON/OFF switch looks like it is broken off, although I guess perhaps maybe it might be an uninstalled option? Probably broken off, looks like it is in the ON position, will see if it can be switched as is. Regardless, it doesn't look like an expensive switch to have to replace.
Again, a return is only an option if you Buy It Now, and even if you Buy It Now and find it has issues then your only option would be to return it for a refund of the purchase price. I will not contribute to any repairs or refurbishing. The other seller indicates parts are available from Crystal Mark, but I don’t know that to be the case.
The full model number of the one I have is 35-00ISD it appears. I don’t know if that makes it different or more specialized. Serial number appears to be 8812731006 if that tells you anything. It comes from a large university so it would have been involved in teaching or R&D, not slaving around the clock in some production facility. Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment. Check back often, I should have pictures and an update posted soon.
Sold as is, as described, as pictured. Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying. Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain. If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing. Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
You are also encouraged to visit my “ME” page, where my terms, conditions, and philosophy of doing business are outlined. I don’t think anything there is outside the bounds of normal e-commerce, but they are binding on the transaction.
Shipping will be motor freight on a pallet unless you would like to come pick it up. I would guess the shipping weight at around 150 pounds. I would estimate the freight cost at between $100 and $175 to the east and west coast respectively. If my guess errs it probably errs on the heavy/expensive side, I doubt it will weigh that much. Residential deliveries, deliveries that require liftgates, deliveries to the boonies, and deliveries to schools or universities will all be more because it takes longer for the carrier to get the job done. Shipping will be via Old Dominion Freight Lines, which is a new carrier for me but they have been around forever. Thus far no problems, hopefully that is the norm going forward.
If you must use another carrier I have to charge a $50 premium to cover the extra time spent coordinating the shipment with another outfit. Every time I deal with another carrier it turns into an all day event and I simply cannot stand around waiting on your carrier for nothing. It will be shipping from a warehouse with a loading dock in zip code 22943, but I do not live there! I require pickup confirmation the day before and your carrier must be able to commit to a 3 hour window, typically 1 to 4 PM. That allows me to have the shipment ready and waiting without having to be there all day.
