I have two of these. One older one, when I put it on my mount and connected my VNA, resonated about 151MHz, so I thought it was a business band antenna, of which I have a few. I bought another, and sure enough, it resonates at 151 MHz on that mount, too. Maybe it's my mount, maybe it's the antenna. In either case, these are beautifully-made antennas that work well in the business band, but to bring them down to 146-147 MHz, you'll need a beautifully-made Firestick 4-foot extension on the bottom. The result is an 8 or 9-foot-long antenna. That's a bit much for mobile use, but sort-of OK for a base station.

I thought this had the tuneable tip, but it didn't so I had to cut away the tip with a saw in small increments. I couldn't get below 3.0 SWR, and so didn't use the antenna. I also think a wire whip antenna would look better on a vehicle than this solid over four foot long black mast.
