I've had a few Mexican Fenders. I believe the Mexican Stratocaster is a real bargain. I also have a pre CBS 1964 Stratocaster that has more grain,it sounds a bit dirtier than a Mexican , but the Mexican Strat really sounds quite similar. The neck of my 1996 is C shaped, flat and comfortable. The varnish is nicely applied, it doesn't come off. The neck is maple. I've had a rosewood Mexican before. I must say I prefer rosewood, it is a bit more mellow. It is a matter of taste. Great pickups, great electronics. Well, okay a US made Stratocaster is the top but I am not sure it is worth the price difference.
I have already got a little collection of MiM stratocasters. It is the best guitars for in price/quality. Nice sound, comfort play, good at any mix
