PRICED TO SELL.. FREE SHIPPING WITH BUY IT NOW. Below the current Guitar Price Guide values by  at least $1000.  I'm all ready taking a hit of several hundred dollars.

Fender 1966 1967 Candy Apple Red Jaguar all original. F plate 196989 which is indeed 67 from one book I'm looking at.  In the right light you can see that the guitar has began to fade to the copper color most Jaguars of this age and color succumb to. The Johnny Marr Jaguar (The Smith's guitarist's reconfiguration of the Jaguar) was actually just released in this faded color which I don't think he called Copper.  You can see it on the headstock as well, which matches the body as far as color/fading w/ more on the front side.  Some of the pictures (especially of the headstock) make it look like its two or three different shades of red.  I assure you that it an almost uniform color of the faded CAR/copper color.   I took a picture where you can see the original color under the pickguard.  You can see how the fading has affected the body and neck as the color is uniform (Pic #4)  The contrast is subtle and I like it better faded w/ the thin nitro finish they were using back then.

The date on the neck stamp is 15 DEC 67.  I did check myself some 2 years ago when I bought it and remember it being mid to late 67 although the pots both date to mid-late 1966 with the same month as I recall.  After several requests I took apart the pickup cover on the bridge pickup and in pencil (on gray magnet) you can clearly see 11-1-67.  I don't want to mess w/ the neck one as sometimes these are hard to get off and I've had a pickup die on me from doing this a long time ago.  I will guarantee that the pickups are both original and SHOULD date to either 66 or 67.  I can't guarantee there will be a penciled date on that pickup as they varied on what they wrote on and where (if at all).  I made sure to take several pics of the original cloth wiring and tried to show that the original welds have not been touched.  Having played alot of Fender Jaguars, I can say that this should be considered more of a 65-66 based on the sound, feeling of the neck/binding and just overall feeling of the guitar.  I say this as I have owned and played both a 69 and 72 Jaguar and I didn't care for those at all.

There is minimal fret wear and I took pictures of two-three dings in the guitar.  No major cracks (or any real visible ones at that) in the binding.  There are some minimal lamination cracks which are to be expected.  There aren't as many as you would expect considering the age.  The only thing missing from this guitar is the bridge cover.  Guitar does come in a older black Fender Case in VG condition.  There are are a few small tears/rips but these are, again, minor and this case will take almost any abuse you can throw at it.  Its still VERY solid.  The "F" in Fender is missing on the case.  The person i bought it from before bought it from an estate sell and it was literally in the closet buried for decades.  Everything has been looked over by previous owner who also owned a guitar store and set this guitar up so there should be NO ISSUES.  Apologizes for some of the dust you can visibly see in the pictures.   I had it hanging on the wall in one of those holders and didn't notice it until now.

Super easy to play and the pickups sound great!!  I'm amazed at what great condition this guitar is in at its age.  If you ordered a Custom Fender and asked for all vintage specs w/ "closet classic" aging.........this is what you would get.

I think I've covered everything.  I've been buying, selling, collection Jaguars for 20 years and this one is in the best shape for its age I've ever had by far.  Feels and plays brand new!  Previous owners barely played the thing at all. Very minimal is any visible wear on the neck and frets, which is amazing to me.

Shipping in the US will be via Fedex/UPS as soon as I can find a donated box from a guitar store.  I accept Paypal, but will GLADLY accept/encourage a MO (in US ONLY) as it will save BOTH me AND YOU money in the end.  I assure you that.  I MIGHT ship to other countries outside the US, but please email me first before bidding.  I'm pretty sure I will not ship to places like Asia, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.  Shipping in the US is free inside the US w/ BUY IT NOW.  Shipping will vary as well and I accept Paypal only if not in US.  To be fair I will cover or subtract what shipping inside the USA would be (normally this is about $40 dollars).  Anything extra over that, you will be responsible for covering.  I don't charge handling....only what they charge me to ship the guitar to wherever.  Thanks for understand this and know that I will try and work with you as far as the price.
