 | | | This is an original oil painting by famous French, School of Paris artist, Jacques Lalande. I do not know the title. I purchased this at an auction over the summer and had originally planned to keep it. Unfortunately, I am also a painter and I need the money more than I need the painting. The frame measures 24" x 28" and the canvas measures 18.5" x 22". This painting is guaranteed to be 100% authentic. LaLande was born in Chateaurenard, Provence, in 1921. (The gallery tag on the back states 1924 which appears to be incorrect) He studied at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier from 1939 to 1941and at L'Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris and Atelier Souverbie from 1946 to 1947. His versatile career has included theatrical designs, ceramics, dress designs, as well as paintings. It was not until 1960, that he decided to concentrate mainly on graphics. Jacques Lalande is famous for his "children" - endearing figures he has immortalized in a series of exquisitely expressive masterworks that enchant and delight with a sublime glow of Impressionist charm! Lalande's boys and girls exude a doe-eyed innocence that melts the hearts of thousands of ardent fans, making Lalande one of the most popular and beloved Artists in this genre. His style is easily recognizable and you can find many examples of his work all over the Internet. Lalande prints generally sell for $200 - $400. An original like the one I am selling here is easily worth ten times that amount. Please feel free to email me with any questions whatsoever. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
