The first photo shows the meter posed with the accessories. Included is a genuine Fluke TL71 Test Lead Set, a heavy duty yellow holster with built-in tilt bracket and a genuine Fluke carrying case. A calibration certificate is also included verifying certification was performed on 12/23/2011(valid until 12/22/2012). This multimeter model features an autoranging analog bar graph at the bottom of the display that updates 40 times per second.
The second photo shows a view of the back of the meter and holster. Please note that the meter has a BRAND NEW 9 Volt Energizer Industrial battery. Also VERY important, the meter contains both hi-voltage fuses of the proper size.
The third photo shows the incredible accuracy of the DC component. The reading of 3.0000 VDC from my calibrator is EXACT at this critical calibration point.
The fourth photo with the dual mode backlight illuminated at the highest intensity and in 4 1/2 digit accuracy mode shows the accuracy at the other end of the scale. This is a calibrator output of 1,000.0 VDC. The measurement is EXACT. There are two reasons this test is important - even if you never need to read voltage this high... First, verification is necessary that there is no internal arcing or distortion at this maximum voltage level. Second, you should know that the lab you are purchasing from has equipment capable of producing this level of stable direct current.
The fifth photo shows AC - the accuracy is PRECISE at 10.000 VAC - 400 HZ. IMPRESSIVE!
The sixth photo with backlight still on shows the resistance measurement cababilities. The meter is connected to a 1.00 Meg ohm precision resistor. The reading is 200 ohms low!
Please look carefully at the 7th photo. A power supply is providing a serial current source to both the 87 V and my Fluke 289 handheld (obviously not included). There is less than 1 milliamps difference between meters. The 289 JUST RETURNED from calibration by Fluke in November!
IMPORTANT: DO NOT PURCHASE A METER ONLINE UNLESS YOU CAN SEE THIS IMPORTANT INDICATOR. IF THIS DOESN'T WORK ACCURATELY, NOTHING ELSE WILL EITHER!
Photo number 8 is a shot I bet you won't see in many eBay auctions... My function generator is producing a 1000 KHz sine wave at about 6.2 volts RMS. The frequency measurement is, once again, EXACT at 5 times the "advertised" upper frequency limit!
The 9th photo shows application of an often used test. The meter is measuring the forward bias of a silicon diode. The voltage drop of 648.6 millivolts indicates a functioning PN junction.
Capacitance is measured in photo 10. This is a .01 micro farad capacitor. The reading is well within specifications at 10.11 nano farads.
Temperature measurement is demonstrated in the last photo. Even though the temperature probe is not included in this auction, you can see the accurate functionality of the meter measurement which is 0.2 degrees higher than the calibrated wall thermometer in my lab.
