TENNANT FUND AUCTION (google for more info) In May
2011, Susie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Susie underwent
surgery on June 2nd, successfully removing all visible signs of the cancer, and
is undergoing six months of aggressive chemotherapy in hopes of eradicating
remaining cancer cells in her body. Because
it is so often detected late, ovarian cancer is called "the silent
killer." The survival odds are truly astounding, ovarian cancer is
especially deadly and aggressive. Less than half of women diagnosed with
ovarian cancer are expected to survive past five years. Only 1 out of 5 are early
detections, and of those 94% are expected to live a full life. Susie was lucky,
her cancer was diagnosed early and she is in the 1-of-5 group. Funds
raised through the Susie Tennant Fund go toward medical expenses and family
support through Susie's extended cancer treatment. In
September 2011 a benefit concert was thrown for Susie that celebrated the 20th anniversary
of the release of Nirvana’s seminal record Nevermind. Nirvana
bass player Krist Novoselic along with a who’s who of Seattle rock celebrated
Tennant and raised money to support her recovery. Tennant worked closely with
the Nirvana as a member of Geffen Record’s promotion staff. Susie has been an
active member of the Seattle music scene and has spent time working at Geffen,
Sub Pop, Experience Music Project, and Town Hall. When news spread about
Tennant’s cancer, the community rallied to donate items to support her
recovery. All
items in the auction were donated directly by the artists, labels, managers,
photographers and authors. · All items are sold “as is” · No returns accepted |
