I'm medically trained by layman's standards (Wilderness, and Remote First Aid, Adult CPR, and Stop The Bleed), and was able to understand most of what the book has to say; the illustrations helped with this fact, and the survivalist may find this an interesting read in that it will illustrate injuries that would likely be faced in a survival situation. The survivalist will be humbled by the fact that there are some injuries best prevented because even the institution doesn't have a way to deal with; for example, laser burns can't be treated; the individual can be expected to treat even less. For that reason, I stop short of calling this book an essential reference for the survival library

I am always looking for ways to help people when they get hurt and this proved to be a very important item in my stockpile of medical information.. Very easy to understand and very easy to follow if need happens.

Easy to read, easy to understand reading and diagrams. Important information for any survivalist but the information is ADVANCED ... the techniques require medical instruments of some sort and some of the injuries depicted, such as bullet wounds, may not apply to the average survivalist who is looking to outlast an end-of-days scenario. It is still a good book to have on hand for a reference at headquarters, but the book is too heavy to carry as an on-field-guide. A+ rating overall for the relevant information provided by the book.
I do recommend this for healthcare professionals; good techniques for accident issues with first responders. So many of the books out there are way overpriced containing the same information.
