I've been playing guitar for close to 40 years. And I'm NOT a "review" writer, but I felt I needed to share my experience with my fellow players. So here goes: Since I started using Elixir brand strings, I've never looked back. I've used the Nanoweb and Polyweb versions, and love them both. The Polywebs have a thicker coating than the Nanos, but I still get 5x the life, even from a set of Nanos, than any other brand string I've used. As far as the Polys, I've played sets so long, that the indentations from the frets got bad enough, that I had to change them..and .I'm talking MONTHS of regular playing. Sometimes the Polys are a little harder to come by, since places like GC only seem the carry the Nanos, but they're worth the effort to find...which is usually online. I've heard complaints of people saying "they feel too slippery"...what?!?! Yeah, it's always better to have strings that give more resistance when sliding your fingers up and down the neck!! Ha! What about their tone? Well, no matter what version I use, they have killer tone. And I mean, until the very end of their life! In a nut shell, if you want strings with awesome tone, and incredible life...look no further...buy yourself some Elixirs!!Read full review

These are the best sounding strings if you want a warm sound - the coating will wear off eventually but they are worth it and the sound still stays under the bright side even when the coating does wear off. They do have two other flavors currently if you want a medium to or bright sound. These strings also keep fret irregularity noise to a minimum somehow too. Not sure how but I have a fret on the g string when using my other favorite strings of the same gauge (Ernie Ball) that is a little noisy due to needing a crown but with these Elixir strings that noise just disappears.

Elixir makes the best guitar strings in my opinion. They sound great with a good low end and last a very long time. Sweat, oils from the hand, and grime seem to have little effect on their life.

These strings last much longer than non coated strings because they are protected from the humidity of the sweat, avoiding them to get rusty. They also sound great.

As far as I am concerned, there are no better strings out there than the Elixir Polywebs! I have been using elixir strings for some time now, and I can say that they give it all. They sound great, they last a very long time, and you cant get a better value for your hard earned money, not to mention that they are coated, which lends to their longevity. I highly recommend them!
