Cam Link 4K produces excellent video and requires no extra Windows drivers to work with most video and conferencing apps. It does run quite warm due to its small size. You do have to be careful with Windows to be sure the correct device is chosen for video and audio. It also needs a minimum of USB 3.0, so if your host computer automatically senses and switches USB port modes it may conflict Windows system drivers. I had to play with my computer's BIOS regarding USB controllers and de-select auto so the ports would always come up in USB 3.0 mode, else I'd get a communications error and slow choppy video. Not the fault of the Cam Link. My only concern is the latency which is significant compared to USB web cams. it might make for a lot of audio echo and slow response when using for video conferencing or live monitoring during a video shoot. As for product cost, due to the pandemic video conferencing hardware is in extremely high demand and products are scarce due to shipping issues and loss of manufacturing capability in China, the origin of most consumer products these days. The going price is three times higher than normal. Certainly overpriced, but still an okay option if you need to add video capability and already have professional cameras with HDMI outputs.Read full review

I am not satisfied with this product because the idea I thought was to take advantage of high quality images of digital cameras as a webcam. I believe this is specific to my equipment, which are Zoom Q8 and Sony A6000. In both cases, latency is significant and images are choppy. Zoom Q8 works better than Sony A6000, so I believe it is up to a camera and its settings. My original webcam images are a lot better than this.

This worked just as I hoped. I paid a bit too much with it because I really needed it. Could have bought it before covid-19 for half. but even at that price it is super helpful. Converted a regular digital camera to a fabulous web cam to do online work. Here it what I did. 1) moved my office desk away from wall to get some space, 2) cleaned up behind me, 3) put a Lumix camera on a tripod above the computer, 4) bought a $100 Rode microphone (cigar type mounts on camera), 4) plugged the camera into the Camlink and into computer, and 6) picked up signal in Ecamm Live. I now look look as good as 85% of all youtubers and better than 99% of zoom folks. Oh, also added a little lighting. But the point is the cam link is perfect!

The Camlink was really easy to use. I was up and running in 5 minutes. Small firm fact let’s me put it on my pocket for streaming or recording in remote locations

Does exactly what it says on the box- works well, I'm using it on a MacBook Pro 16" with OS X Catalina and it works great. Only minor thing is that it doesn't work when plugged into my (admittedly cheap) USB 3 Hub. Going direct into a USB-C port (with an adapter) works exceptionally well.
