My stainless steel MetroVac that I bought several years ago has gotten a lot of use, and is still going strong, so when I identified the need for a second unit to keep my electronic devices clean, the DataVac was the obvious choice. It's small, light and powerful, like the MetroVac, but has additional features - a "blower" mode, a set of special-purpose attachments and an extension hose - that make it easier to deal with crevices, awkward angles and irregular surfaces where dust tends to accumulate. My only quibble would be with the brush attachment, which has rather stiff bristles. I found a horse hair brush that works better and is gentler on high-gloss plastic and painted surfaces. That said, the DataVac is well designed and constructed (in the USA), and works great. Everyone should have one! Read full review

This works acceptably for cleaning electronics but doesn’t provide anywhere near the air pressure of the small handheld datavac blowers. Using the blower adapters Barely provides enough air pressure to dislodge caked on dust. Takes a few minutes to fully clean a CPU cooler off. Bottom line it’s a barely acceptable blower. Using it as a vacuum is ok, it provides a decent amount of suction power. I rarely have use for the vacuum function as an IT technician, the blower function is what I mostly use so I’m not very happy with this but it gets the job done.

Good little vacuum. I had this vacuum before I moved and it got left behind. Good on computer keyboard as well inside the tower, very handy for furniture too. Picks up dog and cat hair nicely.

I bought this for cleaning dust from large format camera gear and computer. It’s excellent!

MetroVac vacuums are built like the battleship Missouri. This DataVac very effectively either blows the Doritos crumbs out of my laptop keyboard or vacuums them out. I look forward to my periodic cleaning of my computer's case fans and heatsinks. The micro tool should be very handy for that. The DataVac is not quiet but neither was the Battleship Missouri.
