I've spent the past year traveling and acquired many fascinating high quality antiques and fine estate jewelry, many of which will be offered over the next few months. This is an extraordinary antique Austrian solid silver deep lobed bowl dating to c1867. A large bowl with a 10" diameter octagonal pointed and fluted rim richly decorated with one large & two small roses done in high relief at each of the eight points. High relief scrollwork separates each floral decoration. This is an incredible work of art. The silver value alone is over $500.00!

The center of the deep bowl features a sharp and well defined lobed design that adds stunning depth and brilliance to the piece. The bowl stands on four applied paw feet. Two Austrian touchmarks appear at the top edge; one being Diana's head with a three beneath it and the other the location of the Austrian town where the piece was made. This mark is age worn but appears to be an H for Hall, Austria. These touchmarks accurately date the bowl to c1867. Diana's head facing right and the "3" are assay marks for .800 solid silver. Dimensions: 10" diameter & stands 3" tall. Each paw foot is 7/8" tall
