THE ELEMENTS OF PHOTOGRAPHY While most instructors teach how to use your camera, in the "Elements
of Photography" David does something not commonly found. He teaches you the "art" or "craft" of photography... Here you will learn the secrets the pros use to create better looking photos, every tme, with just about any camera ... in two entertaining, non-technical sessions - of about 2 hours each. While intended as an introduction to photography, it will remind most experienced photographers of things they've long forgotten. This course will not teach you how to use your camera. (That's what your instruction book, or one of the many camera specific DVD's are for!) But it will teach you how to take better photos with just about any camera! This nearly 4 hour long video is based on a well received course that David has taught, for some years, in both Canada and the USA , and on his 50+ years behind a camera, in some 29 countries. An internationally known Wildlife Photographer, David's images have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, while his prints grace walls from Germany to Tasmania. If you wish to know more about David's qualifications, click on the red/blue me in the Seller Info box, at the top right of the listing. There you will find a short Bio, and a link to a downloadable copy of a recent "profile" done by Current's Magazine. "The Elements" is designed to both instruct and inspire, starting with basic technique, composition, and the secrets of understanding light. It covers point-of-view, the tricks to photographing people (especially kids); as well landscape photography, basic sports & wildlife work; and much more. It also includes his "Every photographer needs a hobby" segment and his famous photo-essay "Putting Wheels on a Horse"! "Elements" is, without a doubt, the most useful and the most popular of all the videos David has made! Unlike a lot of instructional videos…this is a slickly produced, narrated slide-show... much as you'd see if you attended David's course, in person; but, with additional information, music and even a few special effects! The "Elements" is the first of three courses, designed to take you from snap-shooter to photographer, in just under 9 hours! The "Fundamentals" and the "Secrets of Photography" are the companion courses and also available on eBay. For best results, we recommend that you view them in alphabetical order ... Elements, Fundamentals, then Secrets. The 2 DVD set is illustrated with nearly 600 photos and contains almost 4 full hours of instruction. If you look other instructional DVDs, you will quickly find that most have a running time between 60 and 90 minutes... whereas "The Elements of Photography" has a running time of 227 minutes... just 13 minutes shy of four full hours! Yet the prices are very similar. The "Elements" offers great value! This 2-DVD set is in English ony, and is set for all regions. Designed to be played through you DVD player & TV, it can also be played on virtually any computer with a DVD drive. Available in both NTSC (Canada & USA) and PAL (most everywhere else) versions. If Version is not specified, discs appropriate to the shipping address will be shipped. Colour of the discs may be different from those shown. This DVD is availble in either NTSC (North America) or PAL (almost everywhere else) formats. If you do not specify, when you order, the format appropriate for the destination will be shipped. Shipping: Inside Canada, your discs will be shipped via Canada Post, Lettermail. US buyers have a choice of Ground (cheaper) or Air (faster) - Insured. Elsewhere, only by Canada Post Small Packet - Air, Insured. They should arrive, duty-free in the USA & Mexico. Elsewhere, duties (if any) are payable by the purchaser. Guarantee: if any disc we sell proves defective in workmanship or materials, within 1 year, simply return it, postage prepaid, for a replacement. Obviously, scratched or damaged discs cannot be replaced. What others have said about the "Elements of Photography": "My wife and I love it! The bit about Understanding Light was just what I needed!" FC - Canada. "I
think the wonderful thing ... is the combination of your material and
your delivery. The former is very solid, and the latter has
impeccable timing and cogency. "The
overall structure is logical and interesting. The commentary is both
informative and amusing and the images well-chosen to illustrate the
points you are making. "I would like to order a copy of "The Elements of Photography" as a Christmas gift. I really enjoyed the copy I bought from you at the Garlic Festival." JB - Canada "For
a beginner ... it gives a lot of information on "what
is photography" beyond the
technique, and this is very valuable. These DVD are really
entertaining. "Great Video, Great Deal, Thanks!" GM - Canada "Very worthwhile dvds." KP - USA Thanks for reading. |
