I have a
pair of Dynaco Mark VI tube monoblocks @ 120 watts each for sale. They have
been gone through electronically and all components likely to be affected by
age have been replaced.
year old capacitors tend to get iffy, therefore:
multi-section electrolytic capacitor cans
2 x bias
4 x 220K
power supply summing resistors
4 x power
supply rectifier diodes
2 X RCA gold
plated input jacks
they were functional and sounded excellent before this work was done I now
fully expect that this rejuvenation has added many years to their life
they produce is superb and the timbre is that tube sound we all want with no
loss of detail. Unlike other Dynacos of their era they have great frequency
response and produce thundering base.
ask why do the work and not keep them?
The answer is I was tempted but we are downsizing and I need the space,
so the buyer reaps the reward. And buyers - please don't forget they are big
and they are heavy. If you buy them you will need a setup that can accommodate
design called for 8417 tubes but these were modified to run 6550s years ago.
This was not an uncommon practice when the 8417 went out of production and is
actually considered an improvement by most people.
There are a
couple of cosmetic flaws -a half inch long deep scratch in one plexiglass meter
window and one meter needle calibration screw that adjusts the needle precisely
to the zero db mark has been lost.
They are 55
lbs each and bulky. Packing and shipping will be expensive and local pickup is
encouraged. Shipping to continental USA and
