I purchased this book because I watch "What Not to Wear" regularly, and the advice/tips given by Stacy & Clinton are well thought out & specific to each person they help. I was not disappointed with the content of the book. The dynamic style duo dish out plain, easily followed style & fashion rules for every body type. And they do it in a well-organized format that easily lends itself to finding the exact formula each person needs to look great everyday. The book is laid out in chapters that take on each body type, and those chapters show lots of photos that help you understand how to take the "rules" & tips they set out & apply them to your own life & personality. Everyone who reads this book will take with them a renewed sense of style & confidence that will lead them to their own personalized fashion style. I highly recommended this read, which is easily digested in just a few hours but will empower the reader with knowledge that will last a lifetime.Read full review
I really enjoy the Fashion Do's and Dont's tyoe books. I watch their show all the time and thought a book would be a great addition to my collection. Once I received the book, I immediately paged through it. I love that they tackle every body type, including men! Their was a bit of a down fall to the book. They only have a few tips per body type. I was hoping it would have been more indepth on fit and color for different people. I would have to say it is a good book if you style other people, but it is not worth buying as a guide for yourself.
This book is great for looking at your body type through the eyes of Clinton and Stacey. I love the way it groups the body types in petite, medium height and tall. I bought this book after becoming a fan of the TLC show "What Not to Wear". There are no model type bodies in this book. I love it and will use it for reference a lot.
i oreder this book through half.com to help me learn some extra tips about putting outfits together. i am a big fan of the tv show but i am very disappointed with this book. the book is divided into sections body type(i.e., tall, petite, big bottom, little bottom etc...). so, pretty much there were only about 6 pages that actually related to my exact body type. the rest of the book dealt with everybody else and their different body types. they are also given the same amount of pages. for me, i received a casual, business and evening example(with picture) of dressing my body type with a few lines written about what style is best for me. definitely not what i expected. i bought a whole book of which i could only really use 6 pages. i wish i had gone to the bookstore before i purchased this because i never would have ordered it. definitely not what i expected from stacy and clinton. i would not recommend this book to buy. go to the library and copy the few pages that are dedicated to your body type instead. put your hard earned money somewhere else.Read full review
When I got married, I immediately gained 40lbs. Needless to say I didn't feel like shopping or going to any social functions. It was bothering my marriage as well. After watching the TV show...my interest was piqued. Maybe I could do this. So I bought the book and I can tell you... in only two weeks things began to change. I forced myself to go shopping and even though it was not pleasant, I got some great things "by the rules" and I already feel a little thinner and way more motivated to move more and work on my weight. I am looking forward to going places now. I am not a size 4 anymore, but that is okay. My clothing size does not define me anymore. Wonderful reference book and my husband is reading it, too, though he doesn't think I noticed!!
