I always enjoyed the Dragonball series, but i never felt very fond of the games based on its story. They were always too complicated or with rough gameplay, something that ended up ruining the games, specially the fighting ones. But then i met Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure and everything changed. Fluid gameplay, excellent graphics, good sound, cinematic animation e lots of enemies on this platform-based beat´em-up. This game got me hooked for a few days/weeks trying to find all its secrets and unlocking everything, on every level of difficulty. Once you start beating enemies with Goku, you just can´t stop. Even the story and the stages are very close to the original anime, even the small details like Goku´s tail, the Ninjas on muscle tower and much more. I´d say that the only contras are some minor changing into the details of the original story and the soundtrack, that repeats very often at each stage you pass. Other than that, it´s a great game (i´d give an 8,5 out of 10) and is a must for every GBA and NDS gamer. This game is a must-have for DB lovers and beat´em-up and platform gamers.Read full review

How many good dragon ball z games can you name. Ok, how many non 1 vs. 1 fighting dragon ball z games can you name? There are very few to be sure. Luckily this game, which is a beat-em-up style game (like double dragon) is a truly fun exception. In this game you take the role of Goku as a child, through his adventures in Dragon Ball. Not Dragon ball z. This game might seem short, but there are tons of unlockables and great variety in this game. Overall I would highly recommend this game, as it is an amazing portable game.
Gotta find them all those magic Dragon Balls!

Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure, while being an adventure game very faithful to the first arc of the Dragon Ball series, is one of the best 2D beat'em all I've played in the last couple of years, if not longer. Its simple yet dynamic combat system, along with its frantic pace and ever-changing challenge, make for a game hard to stop playing. The presence of a one-on-one fighting mode, deeper than one would think for a side mode of a GBA game, is also a great touch. And the game is gorgeous, which doesn't hurt one bit. Grab it before it becomes an overpriced collector!
