My girlfriend and I have been in the fish keeping hobby for some time now. We have noticed over the years that suppliers of high quality medicine are few and far between. Suppliers who sell small quantities of these medications and can ship them immediately for a reasonable cost are even harder to come by. Many local stores do not sell the particular medication(s) one needs and when your fish is sick and time is of the essence, this can be one of the most frustrating things. We have started selling fish medication as a hobby as we buy it in large quantities and have begun dividing it into 10-gallon powder packets so we don’t have to waste time measuring everything out when one of our tanks get sick. Each type of medication we send comes with a small instruction guide on how to use the medication correctly and effectively.
We sell a variety of high quality medications; they are all pharmaceutical grade. There are no additives to our medications nor are there any additional chemicals other then the medication itself. Each separate auction has directions on how to use the medication and what it is used for.
We try to provide a basic diagnostic guide, but we strongly advise you to invest in a quality book on fish disease diagnosis to ensure that you have made the proper diagnosis and are completing the appropriate course of treatment. Much of the information in our mini symptoms sections and regarding how we care for our own fish comes from “The Manual of Fish Health”, ©2003 by Dr. Chris Andrews, Adrian Exell, and Dr. Deville Carrington. This is our favorite book about fish keeping as it is easy to read, easy to understand, and covers all of the basics of good fish keeping from water quality to disease diagnosing and treatment. This book is worth its weight and gold and every person who enjoys the art of fish keeping should own a copy.
We offer both basic and expedited types of shipping as we
understand you may need medication in a hurry.
Our shipping services are through USPS and we offer First Class Mail
(2-5 day), Priority Mail (2-3 day) and Express Mail (generally overnight
services), all for a reasonable fee and all come with a tracking number. Prices

Detailed Item Description:
For sale is doxycycline hydrochloride fish medication. Each powder packet treats 10 gallons, one time. Doxycycline is an effective wide spectrum antibiotic for treating both gram negative and gram positive bacteria including Aeromonas, Pseudomonas and Myxobacteri. It will also treat some fungi. I have also had luck with it treating swim bladder disease. Doxycycline works in all pH and can be administered via food or bath. For the most resistant bacterial strains, doxycycline can be combined with kanamycin sulfate.
Symptoms of Diseases Doxycycline Hydrochloride Treats (this is only a partial list):
-Fin and tail rot/mouth rot-the primary symptoms are the fin and tail begin to look ragged and may look as if they are being eaten away.
-Septecemia-there may be a red streaking throughout the body of your fish; it can also appear on the fins. This is highly contagious so multiple fish may have this.
-Eye disorders-cloudiness of the eye can indicate a gram negative bacterial infection or a parasite. It is ideal to read up on eye disorders extensively before treating.
-Dropsy (Malawi bloat)-sure sign symptoms of dropsy are a pine cone effect of scales (they branch out), a very swollen belly, ulcers on the belly, and long, pale fecal strings. Treating dropsy with metronidazole, a broad spectrum antibiotic such as a doxycycline and kanamycin combo, and ideal water conditions in combination is usually the ideal treatment for dropsy.
-Tuberculosis-this is a very difficult disease to diagnose because it can mimic other diseases; I would recommend reading up on this extensively if one of your fish has its eyes fall out or it has shallow lesions. Be cautious as this can cause a rash in people (but not actual TB that humans get!). It is often treated with a doxycycline and kanamycin combination.
Directions For Usage:
Doxycycline, like all of the cycline medications, is likely to damage beneficial bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrite in your tank. Subsequently, it is ideal to quarantine (isolate the fish in a small, bare tank) and treat the fish in its own separate tank. This not only preserves the good bacteria in your main tank, but can save you a lot of money as treating a large tank becomes very expensive, very quickly. Additionally, treating fish without symptoms is not desirable because it can weaken the fish’s immune system and the medicine can actually be the cause of disease. If you do treat the main tank, it is critical to decrease feeding and do frequent water changes to help avoid a large ammonia spike. Using larger doses will not help the fish become better any quicker and may actually hurt their chances of recovery. Begin treatment and then every 24-48 hours, perform a partial water change of about 25% and then treat again; this can be done for anywhere from 10-14 days depending on the severity of the infection; with doxycycline, 10 days is ideal. Do not discontinue treatment early if the fish shows signs of recovery as that can cause antibiotic resistance; always treat for the full course.
