I bought this book because the one I had, I gave to my daughter. As a diabetic, this book helps me watch the amount of sugar and carbohydrates in my diet. It also list the number of calories for each item. Not only does it contain information on fresh items, but well-known brand names, as well. For example, under Apples it lists: Canned, dried, fresh and frozen. Even though I might not find everything in here, I usually figure it out by what is in it. The only complaint I might find with this book is, it does not have a listing for fiber. Fiber is an important factor in the diet of a diabetic.
