Classic/collectable 1970's-80's Non-AI'd 45mm/f2.8 GN (Guide Number) Auto Nikkor "Pancake" lens with a Nikkormat EL body
You are bidding on a classic and highly desirable 1970’s-80’s non-AI’d 45mm/f2.8 GN (Guide Number) Auto Nikkor “Pancake” lens…attached to a chrome Nikkormat EL body. This lens was made, primarily for use with the SB-1 flash. Guide number scale on the side of the lens (see JPEG close-up) was set to match film. Diaphragm couples to focusing ring. Focusing the lens automatically adjusts the aperture for proper/correct flash exposure. Sorry, no case or front cap, however I’m tossing in a Quantaray 52mm UV filter (not shown in my JPEG images).
The serial number of the lens is #743520, while the Nikkormat EL body is #5157247. Mechanically the camera appears to work well. The shutter speeds appear accurate to within acceptable tolerance…..even the slowest speeds. The meter is active however please note that I have not had shutter speeds and meter accuracy tested by a camera repair facility. The mirror lock-up works well as does the self-timer. This model of Nikkormat has a stop-down button. Film counter works. The interior of the body with the vertical metal shutter is clean. The battery test button on the rear works.
Cosmetically the lens looks about perfect. The front/rear coated elements look great, and the body of this squat pancake lens is pristine…with no noticeable paint loss spots. The camera body has excellent patina and even the bottom brushed chrome plate looks great. This is a great looking outfit and I’ve based the value on this desirable “Pancake” 45mm/f2.8 GN Auto-Nikkor lens. I’ve placed a reasonable/realistic reserve on this lens and camera however that being stated, I’m offering my usual “bullet-proof” 14-day MBG (less return airmail shipping charges) if this outfit arrives at your door not exactly as described. Please note that I don’t sell/ship into China, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia or Thailand. Good luck in your bidding!
