Description: Set of 4 Complete Replacement Axles w/ Gears for Proto 2000 Diesel Locomotives:

GP-7
GP-9
GP-18
GP-20

Condition: MINT - Brand New

Comments: If your proto diesel makes a thumping sound as it runs, then the axle gears are most likely cracked and these replacement gears will fix the problem. (this is a common problem with the older blue box Proto diesels and was a mfg defect)

To Replace: remove the black clip on the bottom of the truck, lift the old axles out, drop the new ones in and replace the clip. Simple fix and we can even do it for you at no extra charge if you purchase these along with any Proto you purchase from us.

I believe these work with some Athearn Locos as well.
