People love 45s. Besides being lighter, smaller and easier to handle than LPs, they’re cut louder as well. Hauling bulky LPs around is no fun for a DJ, especially if each album has only has one track that you want to play. With 45s there’s no fumbling in the dark for the right track or fiddling with the mixer trying to get a decent level.

Having the track on 7” is always your best option. But unless you can find an original or sort out a dub plate, you’re out of luck if the track only came out on LP.

But do not worry as help is here! We’ve already managed to get a few LP-only tracks put out on 7”, and here’s another. A group of singers and musicians known as the Deirdre Wilson Tabac released their first and only LP in 1970, and this is the first 7 inch release of the song ‘'I Can’t Keep from Crying Sometimes', a monster tune that DJs have been lugging around in it’s original LP format for years. A swinging 6/8 time signature sets the pace before the vocal trio takes over the groove. The flip side ‘Get Back’, a thumping version of the Beatles classic, has seen a UK and US 7” release and is another BIG tune that’s ready to set any dance floor in motion. So you get 2 of the biggest tunes of an LP on one small, light, loud, compact (and cute!) 7” single!
