Hand Forged Custom Made in the United States of America using 100% USA materials by an American Master Craftsman; the "J" of jv.retros, John Jones.

An unusual use for an antique railroad spike: Hand forged by a blacksmith using ancient techniques: a hammer, and a wood fire. Every one is a unique work of art, made from a special high carbon rail nail used for the dangerous curves and switches where higher performance was needed. A great gift for that special man, tough lady, or train enthusiast. Very rustic and primitive, a primal beauty of blackened metal and polished steel. Awe your friends while camping, fishing, or hunting with this rugged weapon. Designed to be the last and only knife you will ever need to buy, this knife has the strength and durability to be passed down for future generations to use and enjoy its rugged craftsmanship. Extra care has been put into the special natural dark carbon detail that, unlike paint or inlay, is highly scratch resistant, being heat bonded to become part of the tempered steel.

This is an extra unique railroad spike knife in that it has crosses hand-tooled into the pommel above the twisted hilt. No two are alike, and no where else can you find anything like this! Added details include a tough saw set into the back of the blade, and a unique bleeder groove with a "crucifix" style cross in the blade itself.

The perfect gift idea for lovers, bikers, motor heads, medieval reenactment festival / renaissance faire goers,  motorcycle riders, heavy metal fans, and especially Father's Day.

Being made of carbon steel, these knives are not designed like modern mild steel or stainless steel blades. A perfect utility knife tool, with a heavy hammer-like handle, saw, and a tough blade, good for a survival situation, or a conversational piece. It will rust if left wet, but polishes up nicely with a mild steel wool or fine grain sand paper. If you buy this knife you are affirming that you are legally able to own this weapon in your local state, region, or country, and of the proper age and maturity to handle a razor sharp blade. Special care is taken to ensure each knife is extremely sharp before being shipped, and caution needs to be used to avoid injury.

Measuring approx. 8.25" long, with a 4.5" blade, and weighing 10.2 oz in solid steel.

This knife comes with a custom designed sheath created by John Jones himself from American produced parts and materials. Our sheaths are made individually to exactly fit the curves and length of your blade, with a special cut out design over the handle to showcase the unique features of your knife or dagger. They are carefully hand-sewn, made with ultra thick grain black cowhide, a belt loop, and reinforced seams and steel rivets for added durability. As a brand new thick leather item, they may have some initial stiffness, but upon use will mold themselves to hug the curves of your new knife. To speed up this process, and ensure maximum durability, it is recommended to oil your sheath with a quality product designed for such.
