These are among the better LED bulbs out there. They're omnidirectional, run cool and actually have better light distribution than the more expensive Cree LEDs that have the 10 year warranty. Those leave a dark spot on the ceiling above the bulb when used in a table lamp. Because of the design they don't need a heavy heat sink, they have vents in the bulb instead. Because of this, you'd need an enclosed fixture to use outside

These light bulbs are a good purchase for 60 watts of light that are dim able They have heat release ot the top and bottom of the globe portion. I purchased these for my great room with a 17 foot ceiling with a 6 piece track lighting system in the over head. They work perfect dimmable down to about 10 watts to a full 60 watts per bulb. At $49 per 12 pack a really good deal.

Cree even makes the actual LED components inside, the best quality. Vented design keeps them dramatically cooler, than my old CFL/incandescent bulbs.

We had several CFL bulbs in our home. The LEDs come on full brightness immediately. Have only had them a few months, so have no idea of how long they will last, but so far we like them.

I replaced every traditional bulb in my house with these. I cannot see a difference in the lighting, but I can see a difference in my electricity bill!
