The product looks like the 50s chair, however, there are differences. The assembly is easy but follow directions closely. Pieces have to be assembled in a specific manner. I very pleased with the overall product, however the one set of legs are off slightly not permitting the chair to sit level. When you sit on the chair it is closer to level. Overall, the chair is comfortable, sturdy and looks (great) like the chair from the 50s.

This product looks like the vintage Cosco stool but is a much different design. The steps are small and are supported by a plastic slot as opposed to the earlier steel rods. The seat is smaller as well. When lifting the stool the steps often slip out of the plastic slot requiring a reinstall. The four feet are not even so when it is placed on the floor the entire stool rocks from side to side. This would be good as a decorative addition or maybe just a seat but I feel it us unsafe and even dangerous to use as a step stool. Unfortunately I discovered all of this when I assembled the stool after the 30 day return period had expired just before Christmas so we have decided to donate it to Good Will and search for a vintage and well made original.

We grew up with this step stool as an integral part of our Kitchen experiences with mom. Sitting near her while she prepared dinner, using it to wash dishes when we were too small to reach the sink, and using it for long phone conversations when we hit our teens are sweet memories and finding this stool on ebay was a delightful surprise. My sister and I are now using it as our 'easy to reach' step stool. Highly recommended for all you Baby Boomers out there!

if $50.00 is all you have ,keep your money. If you can afford more this is not a good buy ,look for a better quallity product . It was easy to assemble, the steps are held by plastic slides . within the first day the steps pulled out .now I need to take one side apart to set them back in. however. the screws are soft aluminum and and backing the out is a problem
