For $160, this scope is everything a kid might want (or student, or budding scientist). I love how the built-in led lights and charging system allow you to take the scope any place. I, oftentimes, never used to use my compound scope because it just too long to set-up all the time. This scope, I can take it to the coffee table and look at stuff as I watch TV. The sharpness of the lenses are excellent. I ordered, from AliExpress, a USB 5 MegaPixel camera with 23.2mm connector (for $79) which should allow excellent photos or animations to be taken through the view tube at high resolution, resolution better than AmScope's 2 MegaPixel version). I had ordered the 20x 40x PZ version with the cord, then decided upon the extra versatility of the LED version and I'm glad I did. I like that it, also, has two adjustments now to dim both the bottom AND top lights instead of what is shown in this photo. It, no longer, has the switch on the back right... but has two rotary potentionmeters, instead. Love the microscope. The on-indicator always shows red, however, no matter how long you charge the batteries; but AmScope told me that they can't overcharge. Also, there is really no manual for the ES306R-PK-LED, per-se... just one on the ES300 series. But there is little you need to know that isn't in that manual besides that you turn on each light separately and turn it off separately. Also, you can carry the scope anywhere you'd like without the cable because of the rechargeable batteries. If you are thinking of adding one of the cheap ring lights the lower black condenser does NOT have threading to have you insert a 48 or 50mm ring to attach a ring light to. You could probably attach a ring light if you removed the upper light; but that is not at all easy to remove and I'm sure it would void any warranty you have.Read full review
