Many aspects of the project require the use of a variable speed wet polisher.

The Secco Dual Vac System supplied with this set confines both dust and water in a controlled environment. While polishing on site, the need to keep water spray from damaging expensive wooden floors and cabinets can be challenging. Concrete dust can also be difficult to clean and is dangerous to breathe. With the Dual Vac System, these damaging and toxic materials are contained and removed by simply hooking up your shop vac. To work with the shroud, simply attach the 6 inch DVS shroud to the wet polisher and attach your shop vac to the 1 1/4 inch vacuum adapter. After attaching your choice of tooling, set the tool flat and adjust the removable apron to the proper position. In addition to protecting your health and your working environment from damage, controlling the dust and water protects the tools internal bearings, armatures and electrical connections. The DVS system is compatible with all 4 and 5 inch diamond polishing pads, threaded backer pads and diamond cup wheels.

This concrete counter top kit includes the SECCO  110V variable speed wet polisher. All necessary hoses and connectors are supplied. The arbor is 5/8-11 UNC thread and is compatible with all 5/8 threaded and non threaded tools.The RPM range of this unit is 500 - 4500 rpm. At high speed, this is the ideal tool for fast stock removal using diamond grinding wheels, zero tolerance wheels, diamond edge profile wheels, finger bits and diamond hole saws.

If you plan to do any significant stock removal you will need the help of a diamond cup wheel. Exposing aggregate, grinding high spots and shaping edges are only a few examples of tasks that would require the use of this tool. The diamond cup wheel included in this set is used for medium to heavy stock removal applications. To expose the embedded aggregate prior to polishing you will need to grind the surface of your counter top until the desired amount of aggregate is viewable.

Diamond polishing pads are used in sets. The 5 inch concrete polishing pad set in this listing starts at 50 grit and end with 3000 grit. The 50 grit pad will prepare your surface by eliminating trowel marks, smoothing rough areas and can expose light, salt and pepper aggregate. The 50 grit pad is also useful for shaping edges and removing mold lines. The 100 grit pad will follow and remove the rough 50 grit scratch pattern, replacing it with a 100 grit scratch patter ( twice as fine). This process is repeated throughout the grits until the desired luster or shine is achieved. Be sure to read any instructions supplied with the sealer or surface treatment you plan to use. In many cases, you may need to apply your sealer before or after a specific grit in the polishing process.

The 5 inch pad set includes the following grits: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grit. Please note, the diamond pads in this listing have been manufactured to be used on concrete which is softer and more abrasive than granite. These are high quality CONCRETE pads and are bonded for concrete. It is not recommended to use granite or stone polishing pads to polish concrete counter tops.
