We have seen a few people attempt to build these over the years and always thought it was a great idea, but we never felt they had the quality or craftsmanship they should have for the price, so we simply built a better product for the same money.
This cooler was built by Westing House in Kansas City Mo. in the 1940's
We give new life to these wonderful pieces of Americana that really have no use any more and have been disregarded as old junk with no purpose and many are taken to scrap yards through the years, they are very hard to find.
We start out by very carefully removing all the inside components and internal housing, we then power clean all areas and take the finish down to bare metal, we make all and any repairs, it is primer coated and then we apply 5 coats of the ORIGINAL COKE RED, it has 8 coats of clear coat on it each hand sanded in between coats, we hand paint the embossed raised lettering (thats right no decals) we apply 4 coats of this white then. The interior is made of automotive grade leatherette, the foam is 100% virgin meaning there is NO sand filler (sand allows the foam to break down so we DO NOT use this method)
The seating area is designed after the back seat of the 1957 Chevy Bel Aire. It is very comfortable and very classy.
We feel we make the best product ever, we feel we have taken no short cuts and have gone above and beyond to try and provide the most durable and longest lasting piece of furniture you may ever own. We feel this is heirloom quality and will last another 70 years with ease.
This is a perfect high light to any family game room, 50's theme restaurant, garage or car show room the possibilities are endless, but one thing we can agree on is it is simply to darn cool.
We would like to build you one, it takes about 6 weeks, we can add about any feature you may want, fold down center arm rest with cup holders, cup holders in the arm rest, you dream it we will do it, we can even install a stereo, iPod docking system with internal speakers built in the the back or keep it simple and buy exactly what you see here
We have over 35 years of Auto Body repair Paint and interior work, we no longer work on cars as we have found this is much more fun. We are also Vintage/Antique motorcycle nuts
