Since this Black & White TV is only NTSC analog and not stereo, I bought it with the intention of using it only for use as a security monitor. Of which I think it excells at. The picture is not bad at all for a B&W 5-inch monitor. On the back, it has an audio/video input (1-Yellow RCA female composite for video, 1-White RCA female composite for audio), a female external antenna jack, a push on/push off switch for TV or A/V input, a 12-Volt DC power input for the ac adapter and cigarette lighter adapter and three knobs for controlling vertical hold, brightness and contrast. I have never just used the antenna to watch TV as this set is NTSC analog and there are no longer any analog broadcasts in our area. A digital tuner box could be hooked up to this set by either the antenna input (set to channel 3 or 4) or the audio/vidio input. The only time I used the antenna input was to watch a picture on a security camera hooked up to a Recoton A/V transmitter. The video camera would be looking out a second floor bedroom window and aimed down at the driveway. The 5-inch Coby TV set would hooked up to a Recoton A/V receiver in the basement on my computer table. Then while using the computer, I could watch the driveway at any time. But using this A/V transmitter and receiver setup was always subject to any weather related disturbances (like lightning, heavy winds, some aircraft overhead). The best way I found was to run a hundred foot video cable between the security camera in the bedroom down to the Coby 5-inch TV in the basement. I like this set so much that I now have two of these Coby 5-inch TV sets. I tried using both as a monitor with the a/v cable and found that the video signal looses brightness when both sets are hooked up at the same time. This TV also has a convenient built-in carry handle on top and an am-fm radio (which I never tried). There is an earphone jack in front (which I never tried) as well as Radio/TV On/Off, Volume control, VHF/Hi, VHF/Lo, and UHF (last three are analog). It came with an ac adapter (brick-in-the-wall), cigarette lighter adapter and can use 10 size C batteries.Read full review
I think Coby makes a fine product for this price. This is a very basic, great little B&W TV. I use the TV to display DVD & VHS flicks on a loop in my room, it's for my own entertainment. It needs to be noted that this particular unit does not feature the RCA audio/video inputs on the back of the monitor. Therefore, DVD/VHS players cannot be hooked up to this Coby model. This is an important & necessary (missing) feature (for me at least.) Otherwise, I highly recommend Coby products.
This television is incredibly easy to hook-up and is the perfect size for someone interested in a TV they can use in a small space such as a car, kitchen, bath or bedroom. Although the tv is black and white, the portability makes this a exceptional purchase. What I was specifically fond of was the portability, naturally - then, the ease hook-up and use, the simplicity of the features, the radio and the carrying handle atop of the set. I believe this one to be an extraordinary purchase for anyone who would like a portable tv without the expense and complexity of many televisions.
Gret little TV. So nice to have an analog TV again.

I boyght this television to use while I am at my desk at work. The radio that I had would not pick up my favorite station. I am also able to watch the news while at work. It also serves as a good conversation piece for my co-workers. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it's not a color television, but other than that I love it!!!!!! Also the price was unbeatable.
