This is a good buy - There are TWO workouts in this DVD. I would have rated it a 5 if there were more exercises for back flexibility. While there are reviews which say the Full Body Workout is for those at a more "general" level, and the Athletes Intense Stretch more "advanced", I beg to differ. I see the two workouts as serving two different objectives. The Full Body Workout is, as the title says, a Full Body Workout. It has toning and strengthening exercises, combined with stretches. I like the simplicity of this. It is indeed a tad too light for me, but I can easily get around this by doing more reps. The Athletes Intense Stretch is, well, a stretch program, for flexibility. I don't know much about the physiology of stretching and PNF etc, but I was pleasantly surprised that the progression of exercises allowed me to stretch deeper than I imagined (I'm not inflexible as it is, wanted to maintain or increase my flexibility before age takes it away from me.)Although Esmonde-White says its for high-performance athletes, I don't think its limited to athletes only. She does give some instances of stiffness areas that are typical with some athletes, but I think one does not have to be an athlete to do these exercises. We just need to be body-aware and not push our bodies beyond its limit. I'd have liked more exercises for back flexibility. The instructor Esmonde-White is clear and encouraging, and quite chatty. I was quite amused at some of her comments. At one instance, she enthusiastically talked about the importance of looking good and praised her make up artist.Read full review
