We live in a more rural area with lots of trees around us, the closest stations are 40 to 50 miles or more away. With our old antenna we were picking up some stations, but a few that we really wanted would come and go and some wouldn't come in at all. This antenna performs much better, however one station in particular which we couldn't get at all with our old antenna would come in a little with this one but most the time would not ( it is about 90 miles from us) so we got an antenna booster and are now getting that station as well.

Yes, this antenna is advertised as one that does it all, but it doesn't. Let me inform folks, this antenna was installed in the attic. It was necessary to add the CM-7777 signal amplifier (increasing the strength to 33 dB) and boost the gain to receive the signal - straight line of sight of only 46 miles from the tower. In the end, however, I could only gain enough signal for HD-TV when atmospheric conditions - good propagation and favorable weather - prevailed, otherwise not at all. On a positive note, I have experienced great reception performance from analog FM stations - that much I can say.

Antenna was easy to assemble, but did not bring in any tv stations. the closest stations to my location are approximately 60 miles away as the crow flies. I was unable to receive any stations, even after moving the antenna to several locations and heights. The antenna I had before this one would not pick up stations without a signal booster. Apparently, this one will be the same way. What ever happened to truth in advertising?

bottom line. poor reception. i had high hopes for channel master brand after reading some reviews, but in my own opinion the $40 40 mile range antenna it replaced, that i bought from radio shack 20 years ago did better than this 100 mile range antenna, up to the day the channel master amplifier went out. so i decided to change them both out and go even with a bigger antenna. wish i would have left that costly idea alone. i live about 40 miles from the baton rouge transmitting towers and i get 10 channels and most of them steadily flake in and out. i wish radio shack was still around.

Fairly simple to assemble.. best done outdoors and preferably on mast. Study the instructions closely and refer to pictures of completely assembled antenna. Light and easy to lift into place.
