Artist’s Biography:

Educated and trained in Europe, since 1991 he lives with his family and works in the U.S.A.
His paintings show a great influence of Old  Europe and its mystery. He always says he would never have achieved any artistic satisfaction if he had not come to Washington, DC in summer of 1991.  He has realized that Old town Alexandria and George Town, with its crooked streets, dodging left and right, making a whimsical labyrinth, has become his love. His ability to take you back over the centuries to a bygone  era that allows you to walk along  the Old American and European streets  accompanied  by clowns  and harlequins. His sense of humor makes the paintings understandable and appealing to a wide audience. You may be impressed  by  the artist’s  techniques of oil painting, which reflects his respect for the old masters. He usually uses the glazing techniques in order to achieve the specific brightness  and  depth  of the picture. Countless number of thin  and  transparent  color slides,  being  applied  to  each other, make a brilliant richness of the color shades, which is typical for Reut’s canvases. It is unquestionable  that the author masterfully manages the combination of glaze and rough palette knife techniques. Use of these  techniques   gives  the  painting extraordinary  quality and  uniqueness.     Often  he uses  his  own fingers,  which he  considers  his best brush.   He says, “Touching the canvas allows me to better feel what I am painting.” Looking  at  the  pictures  you  can  feel  that  the  author  loves  the  process  of painting.   It takes him no less than half a year to create one work and it is not rare when  the work is   “growing”  for  more  than one year.   “The process of painting
takes a lot of energy, it is a joyful but demanding labor of love.” He says.

Was born on in the Ukraine  on June, 8th, 1955.  In 1972 he finished the Children’s Art School № 1 in Kiev, USSR.     In 1979 he graduated from Kiev Engineering-Art Academy.   Since 1980 he has been working as an architect and professional artist. The participant of republican exhibitions  of the Modern  Art of 1976 -1981. The first personal exhibition was held in March, 1978 in Moscow  in The Central Exhibition Hall. The participant of collective exhibitions:  The Mellow Autumn and The 1000 th Anniversary of Kiev. The second personal exhibition took place in 1989 in Geneva (Switzerland), gallery GREYZE. The participant of the international exhibition LES FESTIVITES GLOB`ART, France, 1989. Winner of the First Municipal Award at portrait competition. Participation in collective international exhibitions FORUM DES LACS (THYEZ), L`ESPACE ESCALET (SIETA), GLOB`ART (LA ROCHE sur FORON) The Third personal exhibition was held in February, 1991  in gallery ART`VILLAMAGNA (VILLE - LA-GRAND). The fourth personal exhibition took place in gallery EXPRESSIONS D`ARTISTES (ANNEMASSE) in 2006 in France.
