Carver TX2 Tuner with Amazing Noise Rejection and Super Low Reserve

This auction is for a Carver TX2 tuner, which became famous for great reception under difficult conditions, especially in urban settings.

Why urban settings specifically?

If you live in a city, you don’t need great sensitivity, even though this tuner has that.

The problem is that you will have MULTIPATH interference, which is when you receive the radio signal directly, PLUS that same signal reflected off of tall buildings. This “delayed path” signal interferes with the direct signal.

It’s the same problem that caused “ghosting” on TV sets when urban dwellers used antennas years ago.

The result is very high noise in stereo. You can always switch to mono, but who wants to listen in mono?

One sure way to tell your reception problems are cause by multipath is to check the signal strength indicator on your tuner. If it reads fairly high, and you still hear noise and distortion, and switching to mono helps, then YOU NEED THIS TUNER.

You press two buttons on the front panel and most of the noise goes away. It’s amazing.

The tuner looks great from the front, but has some small scratches on the top. It’s not MINT, but quite presentable.

I tested it, and all functions seem to work, and the tuner memories held their settings overnight indicating that the battery is probably fine, but the AM does not seem to work.

For this auction, I will consider this, therefore, to be an FM ONLY TUNER.

If you have been suffering with multipath problems on FM, this is probably the solution to your problems…and at a low cost…

PRICING: The RESERVE is being set at only $48.00.

CONDITION: There are some scratches on the top, but the all-important front of the face looks VERY good, and the tuner sounds great. The AM does not work.
