Cartier Paris - Pasha - vintage shaving set, pre-owned 

My brother was an avid Cartier buyer for over 30 years, and his collection is now my inheritance after his passing a year ago.  He had quite a range of Cartier items -- just about everything you can think of in men's accessories -- and was also extremely generous in giving Cartier gifts to his friends and family (and occasionally he would select a Tiffany & Co., or a New York Museum of Modern Art gift, or some fabulous designer jewelry piece.)  I really doubt he ever wore anything that wasn't designer for he was a dancer / choreographer / dance historian / author / professor, and he always looked like a celebrity was in your midst -- and acted like one in the best sense of that.

Anyway... besides the fact I miss him terribly and his remarkable talent and brilliance, I want to pass on some of his precious possessions to those who can value and appreciate them -- and, well, anything Cartier should never just sit in a closet : ) ... Cartier, or any great designer brand, should be worn or used.

This is a vintage style shaving kit which I think is so beautiful, and probably the perfect gift for the man in your life if he appreciates this sort of thing.  I don't know the age, but it is a Pasha de Cartier item, and it is from Paris (my brother traveled a LOT, and adored the Paris Cartier store, and the Beverly Hills one, and the London one...).

The photos show the serial number, the French Assay Maker's Mark (though I am not an expert in these things), and the Cartier name along with 'Made In France'.  What I could not find is an 18K mark or 750, or some other indication of the metal, so I suspect the shaver and razor are either vermeil (gold over sterling silver), or maybe even simply gold-plated.  (I could not find the items on the internet, so if someone out there knows more about this item, please do let me know!)  (**Update:  I believe now it is solid gold, for I found an article on the web stating that a famous / infamous celebrity had such a set, and it was described as a solid gold Pasha de Cartier razor shaving kit).

The brush I believe is boar's hair.

They are really quite heavy, though; very solid pieces, with no tarnish or rust that I saw, nothing 'turning green', though with some scratches as would be expected for pre-owned.

I will ship insured, and if you are not satisfied in any way, you can return it to me insured, and I will refund you if the set is in the same condition I sent it.

As to value, I truly do not know, so I am starting this auction off with what I think might be its value assuming the metal is indeed some carat of gold (after all, it's Cartier, so it would not surprise me one bit if the whole set was 18K at least!).  If I am way off on this, and you are an expert, please do tell me!
