Tailored brilliance from Carol Christian Poell's fall 2002 collection.
This classic piece of CCP tailoring is a somewhat sober offering compared to Carol's latest offerings. His blazers from pre-2004 feature slightly less vampiric proportions, with the pagoda shoulders appearing less pronounced, and the hem falling a little more flat than later seasons.
This jacket is made from a satisfyingly weighty, grosgrain cotton with a saliently diagonal weave imbuing the jacket's aesthetic with a welcome amount of texture.
Thanks to the weight & nature of the grosgrain woven cotton, this jacket will develop creasing and fading in a way much similar to a heavy denim does with extensive wear.
Though this jacket is one-button, Carol has placed two faux button holes (one above, and one below the actual button) on the opening, allowing the wearer to either add extra buttons, or move the already existing one.
It is single vented with buttoned cuffs, is fully lined & canvased and has two interior pockets in addition to its two front pockets.
This jacket is tagged size 46, and fits slightly small. It will work perfectly on a slim 46 (closed or open), well on a 44, and can even be worn well (open, will be taught closed) on a slim 48.
This particular jacket is pre-owned, and in very good condition. It does not include original tags.
