Canon 50mm F 1.5 Rangefinder Leica Screw Mount Lens - Type 4
FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING
For auction is Canon 50mm F 1.5 lens for Canon rangefinders and other cameras that use Leica Screw Mount (also known as Leica Thread Mount and M39) lenses.
The lens is used. It is sold as for parts or not working due to serious optical problems.
The front and the rear have marks, and the front element also has light scratches (a lot, but not to the point that it is covered by them).
The front element is also dirty around its edge, and has fungus around its edge (it may behind the front element). There is also bit of fungus inside the lens (again, by the edge).
The rear element is in nice shape with only few very light scratches.
One of the internal elements has haze and damage to coating
. On this lens it was largely cleaned off, but bits of the haze remain, and more seriously, the affected element was left with scratches - some long.
As one would expect in a used lens, there is some internal dust, including some small particles. Some of these particles have developed small spots of haze around them.
Cosmetically the lens shows some wear on the chrome (scratches, brightlines, scuffs, etc.) but looks nice.
The focusing feels looser than it should has a small play in it, but it is smooth and the lens focuses without problems.
The aperture ring is tighter than it should be, but it turns. The clicks are less distinct than they should be, especially at the large aperture stops. The blades work perfectly, but they have oil on them.
The serial number is 23413. The distance scale is in feet.
There is no rear cap. A metal Canon front cap is included, but it is dented and shows a lot of wear.
