When I first hit it, it took about 20 hits to get in to the 'swing' of things (ha). One problem for me, is that I am 5' 9" and this club is extremely long for me (about 2 inches longer than my Nike Sasquatch clubs). At first I actually had shots that went up and faded to the right . . TOO far right. Once I choked up on the club about 3 inches, I found myself hitting it well ,but a little high (I prefer a 8.5 loft, this is a 10.5) If you need some loft, and are tall, this may be the club for you. For me, the 'draw' aspect did not make much difference. I would definitely reccommend hitting it at your local Club, pro shop, etc before buying. you may like it! Just not quite for me . .
Well what can I say,Hmmm this is a great driver. I have used many different brands before and this one is for sure right up there with the best. I love the interchangable shafts, as a beginner the more you improve with your swing the easier it is to change these out, without having to actually pull the shaft. If your looking to buy dont hesitate, if you dont like the first set up you can always change out the shaft with no problems.
OK, I have been playing golf for about 30 years now and have used practically every type of driver there is. When I was learning the game around 9 years of age, my driver was an old Wilson 4 wood that my dad had lying around in the garage. Then I went through the Spalding wood driver stage, the metal woods, and then the Big Bertha era came along and suddenly the bar was raised in terms of the drivers design, performance, and quality. I really didnt think things could get much better than the Great Big Bertha when that club came out. I used that for a few years along with a few different Titleist drivers until last year when I demo'd the FT-i at my club. HOLY COW!!! The FT-i is absolutely, positively, the greatest driver ever made (in my opinion of course). First of all, the sound this club makes is awesome. Its that high pitched CRACK sound that makes heads turn. I love it! But the best part of this club is its performance. UNBELIEVABLE! Even mis-hits and off-center hits result in decent shots because of this clubs forgiveness. I have the 9 degree Neutral model and the ONLY problem I have with this club is that I hit the ball to high with it, therefore, I end up losing yardage. But if you are a low-trajectory hitter, this club will be perfect for you. If you hit a high ball like I do, buy the Low Center of Gravity version of this FT-i. Trust me on this one. Unfortunately, the LCG FT-i wasnt available when I purchased mine, but it is available now. Even so, this club is amazing. Like I said before, even the mis-hits result in good shots. And Im not just blowing smoke here. Sure the mis-hits dont go as far as center hit balls, but they still end up in the fairway off of this clubface. The club is simply amazing. My advice to you before buying it is to demo one first to see what type of ball flight you get from it. Or, if you already know you are a high-ball hitter, go ahead and DEFINITELY purchase the LCG version. You will get an extra 10-20 yards by doing so.Read full review
Wow is all I can say! I've never hit a tee shot 250 yards+ straight until now. I had a MASSIVE slice, when I say Massive its like 200 yards straight then it goes 100 yards right! If anyone is suffering from a major slice, after the ball goes out a bit then slices right, majorly! This will help a bit. Very forgiving, awesome sound! You are not going to be driving 300 yards with this club, well maybe. Best advice I was ever given picture a circle on your chest, don't move it. Half swings work. This club let me drive 270+, only been playing a year or two off and on. Very Forgiving with mishits, I hit my buddies Burner and put the ball almost the same place, dead center on his but it was a burner. I mishit on the Ft-i. I would recommend this club for the casual weekend warrior. I would go with a regular shaft rather then a stiff. Your swinging a lot slower then you think. I would say buy it for us hackers, to see your drive go 250+ instills some confidence with the irons.Read full review
I bought this club based on reviews I read online. Most say it's not a long hitting club and that it trades some distance for accuracy. I'd say that is pretty accurate although I do get ahold on one on occasion and it goes further than I expected. My first round I played with it, I hit 12 out of 18 fairways and the second and third I hit 13 out of 18. Not bad considering I was getting about half of that on average before (5-7 out of 18 on average). I've also hit about 6 large buckets with it at the range and it has proven to be pretty straight. I'm a natural fader which can manifest as a wicked slice when I hit it wrong so I need a fairly forgiving club to hit it well. So overall I'm really pleased, especially if you can get a great deal on this club as the retail is much higher than it is here on ebay.Read full review
