My Dad is a TaylorMade fan. He uses the R5D and smokes it all over the place. You never know which way his ball will go, but that it will go about 300 yards. I handed him this Big Bertha TI 454 to try out, and he hit it well. I wouldn't say that it went straight, but it certainly didn't boomerang like his TaylorMade. He hit it about 10 times and was very impressed, and ended up buying the club from me. He now carries the R5D and the Ti 454, I think just because he can't sell the R5D for what he paid for it. Anyway, when I hit this club I found the sound to be distracting. The feel and control weren't better than my Great Big Bertha II, but the sound was more like a TaylorMade thwack than the Callaway ping sound. Also, the loft was just too high for me anyway. My swing is unconventional, and I need a lower degree driver just to get some roll. I decided to stay with my Big Bertha II because my father got more benefit from this club than I did.Read full review
It's long all right, very long compared to the last two drivers I used. Hit the sweet spot just above the center of the clubface and the ball takes off like a whipped pig at a county fair! All that added distance is with a stock shaft, (RCH 65W Firm), that I find to be too light and a little to soft in the tip for the big club head. I can't wait to try it next season with a shaft fitted more to my swing. I do have one gripe though: It's quite a bit harder to work the ball than with my old driver, (Callaway 2004 Titanium with the same shaft), the smaller head on the 2004 Ti is easier to turn at impact for those low trajectory draws. The Ti 454 tends to fight back when I try the same swing that works so well on the 2004 Ti. It is also a little trickier to judge the amount of fade you are putting on the ball with the Ti 454 compared to the 2004 Ti, (and for that matter the TM 540 I had before that), but I am suspecting that the shaft may play a substantial part in those particular issues. I'm giving it a 5 for distance and it's ability to go straight and a 4 for workability, for a total of 4.5 with expected improvements when the fitted shaft is on. I'd recommend the Ti 454, and will probably play with it for at least a season or three, (depending on the improvements the shaft change will make). New season update: The Ti 454 is now rated a full-blown 5 of 5. A 75 gram, mid-kick shaft cures the clubhead's tendency to lag, (aka. fight back), when attempting the low draws. The shaft's stiffer flex point also adds some yards, in addition to improve control. Dialing in the fades are still not as easy as with the 2004 Ti, but the extra shaft weight is a noticeable improvement throughout the downswing. The 454 is highly recommended, but hit the launch monitor and get fitted to get the most out of it.Read full review
I decided to buy this driver because I had heard alot of good things about Callaway in general, and about this Ti 454 driver. I wanted to test the 454 against the Taylormade 360 that I also have in my collection of clubs and I have been experiencing some inaccurate drives with the 360. I really liked the feel and balance of the Ti 454. It provided me with a major improvement in my driving accuracy and I did not feel that the club wore me out after swinging it several times on the range during testing. The only thing that I disliked about this club was the grip which was a little too thin for my hands. I would prefer a thicker grip so that my fingers would not get too wrapped around the club.
I went back to the non adjusting, or weight movement Driver. I instantly started hitting my natural fade. Confidence is way up, just need to take it to the course. Go with what feels good not the newest driver on the market. Major club makers come out with them each season, sometimes more. Older models are far more cheaper in price. Even though they were expensive when they came out.

I have been using TM 200 Steel driver for about 3 years and my game has been average. I really didn't want to waste the money to purchase a new driver since the TM 200 is still in good condition. Finally, I gathered enough courage to purchase a new driver. I've researched on all of the top prospects (TM, Ping, CG, etc.) and found that the Callaway Ti 454 to have the most positive feedback from players. This driver is amazing off the tee. I can feel the balls jumped off the club face at impact, and very much forgiving on off center drives. I've played my first round and couldn't believe I was able to drive every fairways. The TI 454 gave me about 20-30 extra yards and allowed me to reach the long par 4 with a easy second shot. If you are looking for a driver; the Callaway Ti 454 is it. I love this driver and I am glad that I finally got it.Read full review
