2012 COMINS GUITAR CRAFT SERIES GCS-1
DEAD MINT, AS NEW UNTOUCHED CONDITION
This guitar is in new condition. I purchased it new from an authorized Comins dealer about two months ago. The guitar has been played about two hours in total. It is stored in the factory case in a climate-controlled, smoke-free studio. I selected this one because it was one of the lightest (7 lbs).
It comes to you exactly the same way it came from the factory.
Let’s get this out of the way right up front. Why am I selling this guitar? What is wrong with it? Well, here’s the truth: It’s a fantastic instrument. This guitar is beautiful; the action is fantastic; it plays like butter; and it sounds phenomenal. There are no issues at all. There are no dead spots and no buzzes. The sustain is great. It is one of the most versatile guitars I’ve ever played, and I’ve played quite a few. You can get a really warm, hollow, classic jazz tone and a funky rhythm tone and a thick juicy rock tone all out of these great pickups.
So, in all honesty, I love this guitar. I’m selling it because I can no longer afford to keep a large stock of guitars. Life changes have kind of forced me to refocus my attention on other things besides gear. Having said that, there is another guitar that I have always wanted, and I will use the money from this one to put toward that other one.
Bill Comins designed the guitar and trained the luthiers. He does the final inspection and fretwork and setup before they leave his shop. These final touches make this play like a guitar costing three times as much. And the fit and finish are flawless. This GCS-1 smokes anything from Gibson for a fraction of the price. It’s really comparable to the Sadowsky Semi-Hollow model (yes, I have owned one of those too) but that guitar is over four grand new and this one is 1500. Actually, I likethis one better than the Sadowsky because while it has the classic jazz tone, it’s a little punchier and meatier for blues and rock and feels more substantial an ballsy like a great 335.
