As a major-label band, Cyk resists getting crunched in with the mainstream. INFILTRATE, DESTROY, REBUILD was created from soup to nuts with the band writing, producing and mixing everything themselves exclusively. Their self-proclaimed revolutionary philosophy is such that above all else, Cky are passionate about their music and the all-important intimate connection with their fans. The band's synthesizer- and guitar-laden, futuristic rock is led by an emphasis on vocal harmonies and an ear for atmosphere. "Plastic Plan" and "Inhuman Creation Station" nod to an obvious Bad Religion influence, but not in copycat fashion. Cky's most compelling moments on INFILTRATE, DESTROY, REBUILD are in the moody closing track "Close Yet Far." Editorial Reviews Spin (20021201) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
