CISSY IN LILAC ORGANDY - COMPLETE - 18 PHOTOS

SUMMER BREEZE

Cissy appears in lighter-than-air lilac organdy in 1958.  The costume is complete and all original.

She's a beautiful, pre-colored hard plastic.  (Early Cissys were painted hard plastic.)  You are promised a body that is a beautiful, uniform tone with no cracks, no splits, no stains, no scratches, and no odors.  Her knees bend and hold position perfectly.

No photos were altered to enhance the color or condition of this doll or clothing.

Under the cloud of crisp organdy, Cissy wears her original, lace-trimmed lilac taffeta slip and panties, unique to this outfit.

Her hose are wide-banded originals with no runs, no snags, no holes.  

Please note the blush on her knees.

  The elastic at the taffeta slip was tightened by weaving elastic thread around the existing original waist. No fabric was pierced. The waist is now very tight.

 An extravagant cartwheel hat is adorned with perfect purple and white flowers and bright green fuzzy leaves attached with tiny milliners' staples enameled to match.  

No rust from the staples.   Hat is in perfect condition.

Cissy has a luminous ivory complexion that precisely matches the rest of her.  Her eyes are a particularly intense blue.  Her glossy blonde wig is in a halo of tiny, perfect curls achievable only with the softer, silkier saran wigs found on just a few Cissys after 1957.  Her wig has never been washed, combed, or reset.  All the stitching is strong and there is no dust.

Her lashes are long, full, and straight.  She sleeps easily.  Her lids are not scraped.

Cissy has done her best to turn an issue into an asset.  The elastic of her original shoes was totally stretched, so she tacked the toe strap tight and tied the ankle straps. 

Cissy's matching shoes have purple felt insoles.

The organdy has two spots so extremely pale they are as hard to see in person as in these close up photos.   You have to be told.

Cissy's dress tag is crisp and bright in the back skirt seam.   Also in this photo is the one miniscule hole in the taffeta slip.

Cissy will be prepared for travel like the work of art she is.

Something needs to be clarified for those interested in Cissy study.   The earlier Cissy halo hairstyles are of a wiry saran fiber.  This coarser fiber is on the later Cissy halos, too.   Only a few Cissys, none before 1957 and only a few after 1957, have a softer saran fiber used for their halo styles.  This glossy fiber is more like the silky saran used for Cissys upswept styles, but more resilient.
