CARL SORENSEN SMOKING SET - Hammered Copper from the early 1900's Arts and Crafts era. An 8 3/4" x 6 1/4" Tray with attached Ashtrays (3). Cigarette Box and Match Box Holder. The Ashtrays fit into each other, so the Tray appears to have only one. This exact example marked can be found on the net and in books. But I cannot find Sorenson's Mark. PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS.

Carl Sorenson worked in Philadelphia at the turn of the century, was noted for his Arts-and-Crafts-style metalwork. He often worked in copper, making hand-hammered desk accessories and decorative pieces. Sorensen went on to design for Tiffany in the 1920s and 30s, but information on his subsequent career is lacking.
