I've had this for over a week and just started using it today. Fortunately, I haven't experienced any of the problems that I've read about this all-in-one. It prints fast and clean compared to my old ink jet. I just tried to use the fax function....Beware: This economy unit has NO AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER. e.g. If you are faxing an 18 page document, you have to lift the lid and place the cover sheet on platen glass, close the lid and press the start button. This scans the cover sheet into memory. You are then prompted for another page. You then have to open the lid, remove the cover sheet and put the next page to be faxed on the platen glass, close the lid and push the start button to scan in the next page into memory. In this example you have to individually scan 19 separate pages into memory before the machine dials the phone number to send the fax. Now that Iโm writing this, I just realized that copying an 18 page document will be just as tedious. If I hadnโt bought this item on ebay, I would return it to the store. Who would think, that in 2010, Canon would make a multi-function printer-scanner-fax-copier that didnโt have a document feeder? Doesnโt seem possible. I can't recommend this machine anyone who routinely scans, faxes, or copies multi-page documents. Not even worth the $99 I paid for it.Read full review
I bought the Canon imageCLASSยฎ MF3240 All-In-One Laser Printer a couple of weeks ago and had to write about it. I searched a long time for a good flat bed all in one laser printer and finally found this one on eBay. It had everything I wanted and at a great price. I do a lot of printing and now have put a few reams of paper though this machine and I can say I am truly satisfied. This machine pints high quality copies and scans. It is very fast and the best part is there is no spool up or down time. It just prints, my last printer had a cooling fan that stayed on for what seemed to be hours. It is also very easy to operate. I can highly recommend this printer to anyone
Before you buy this item, you need to understand that the bundled software from Canon does not currently support 64-bit operating systems such as certain versions of windows vista and windows 7. There are drivers available so the printer and scanning functions will work, but not the included OCR and image editing software. With that said, this is the least expensive laser based MFC than Canon currently makes. It does the job without too much hassle, but it does it more slowly and without integrated networking capabilities. I am happy with my purchase, but my goal was to have a functional printer and scanner for internet faxing and save a lot of money. In that sense, the goal has been met.
This is the fastest printer I have ever used. I'm talking about the first sheet. Often printers get acclaimed because they can print so many sheets per minute. Who cares! Most of the time I want just one sheet. Many times I have waited a minute or more to see it. With this printer I have the sheet in 10 seconds or less. I love it mostly for that reason. However, the quality is excellent as well.
I bought this All in One laser printer because I needed something to use wirelessly and I needed to be able to fax, scan, and copy. This Canon is a monochrome printer, but it works beautifully. The directions were clear and simple to follow. Setup was simple. All in all I think that this machine works great and the price was very reasonable. I would definetely recommend it to anyone who needs the the same features and has no room for multiple machines. Great Item...
