PLOT: fact based embellished drama about the Tanaka Memorial document. still fun. CAGNEY IS an Editor located in Tokyo before WW2. and he is stumbles across a "document" called the Tanaka Memorial a "plan" by a Japanese high in the government that lays the "ground work" for Japanese domination of the world including the USA. This was an REAL document but the plot here is very thin. Sylvia Sidney is the lovely who helps "inspire" Cagney. LOL some cheesy sets and outlandish overplayed Japanese "thugs" and bad guys none the less Cagney is very true blue in his desire to make sure the world see the Document. the Japanese are busy discrediting Cagney and looking for the document.
