I am a hobby machinist and a big fan of Nikola Tesla. I have built Tesla Coils and steam / air engines and so I was interested in building a Tesla Turbine. There is very brief biography off Tesla, a story about Tesla describing his turbine and a copy of the actual patent for the Tesla Turbine. There is a good materials list that even includes the material required for the fixtures required to build the turbine the way the author recommends. While not exactly step by step to the tiniest detail, there is more description of how to build the project then I am accustomed to. I would actually prefer seperate blueprints from the narative text on how to build it, but that is a personal preference. You do need a metal lathe and a milling machine or a 3 in 1 to make this project. But it is very buildable from these plans. I am still acquiring the materials, all of which you can find on eBay, so I can't tell you how well the turbine actually runs. I do recommend this book to its target audience.Read full review
