Season 2 is probobly the best season of Buffy. Her relationship with Angel escalates, and Xander explores new paths with Cordelia. Willow also decides to give couple status a try, and Giles suprises us all. All of the episodes are well written and the special effects are taken to a new level with giant snakes, fish-men, and other hellish creatures. Most of the episodes center around Buffy and Angel. We learn that there are more complications involved than just the fact that he's a vampire. We also get to meet Kendra...That other slayer. All-in-all this season is a take on love, relationships, and the consequences of such. The season ends with Buffy wondering if she will ever get over the horrible things that have happened to her. 5 million stars. I can't count how many times I've watched these episodes. Only Dirty Dancing prevails!Read full review
As I was hooked with the first season of Buffy, I could not let the second one get away and this explains why I bought the second season. I was wonderfully surprised with the advance of the story. It gave depth in the characters and the viewer has the chance to see everyone in the show evolve. I cannot seem to find a reason to dislike the show. Maybe if one is not an action fan, or keen to vampire-themed shows, one will not like it much. Also, if one wants Buffy and Angel to be together will be disappointed from the plot of the show. But one should keep in mind how different they are and that they represent the two opposites of the world. To anyone who has seen the first season I strongly recommend that they do not miss out on the second as well.
If you're a "Newbie" to Buffy, I would suggest starting the Series with Season two. The actual story of Angel is what got me hooked in the Whedon-verse. Watch Season two first, then the rest will be like a roller coaster ride that always goes down and only goes faster until POP! You feel like you've been flayed alive by a Witch and you find yourself wanting more, and there is more. The Angel series, and even season 8 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which is coming out in a comic book series. Joss Whedon (creator) himself said that Buffy was destined to surpass the television genre. And itβs still going for a reason. Itβs THAT good.
I feel obligated to report that the video quality in some of the episodes is very poor. The picture is blurry, and some night scenes you can barely see anything. However, if you are a big Buffy fan/Joss Whedon fan as I am, would this stop you from getting your hands on this? Every Buffy fan needs to watch Season 2! It's a continuation of season 1, but it just keeps getting better and better. If you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you need to own this.
Always watched it when it was on air now my little sister love's it.
