Buescher

Product Type:

Vintage

Model:

Double Bell Euphonium

Case Included:

Yes

You are bidding on this vintage Buescher 5 valve double bell euphonium.  The serial number is 110xxx, dating it around 1922  Both bells rotate and can be removed.  Silver finish is about 95%+.   The case has seen better days but it is very unusual to see a Buescher case in this good shape after almost 90 years..  The horn takes a tenor shank euphonium/trombone mouthpiece and a vintage Schilke 51D is included..  All slides pull and the valves work well.  The body of the horn is in remarkable shape for its age, and there is perhaps one small dent and some smaller dings. Both the larger and smaller bell are beautifully engraved.  The pictures also try to accurately show the extent of any silver wear and dinging/denting.  The horn is in good condition for its age and has been a pleasure to own.  I have tried to show two views of the valves.  They work smoothly in the instrument.  They appear somewhat worn, but if the main tuning slide is removed and you put your finger over the open end of the tube coming from the valves and blow hard into the leadpipe there is remarkably little leakage apparent, if any.  I have used Hetman Classic Valve Oil to help alleviate any small leakage problem that may exist. Tunes to modern pitch, A=440.  The fourth valve mop button is cracked, but is all there and takes up the entire space it should.   I willl ship UPS ground for a flat $75.  I will also insure it.  The $75 includes shipping, handling, and insurance. It probably will cost me more than that but I will make up the difference.  The horn is ideal to be played in community bands and marchiing bands, or just for fun. At nearly event I play at someone comes up and asks me questions about it.  If for some reason you are unhappy with the horn, please notify me within 7 days of receipt and return it in the original shipping material and pay the return shipping yourself and I will refund your money if no damage has been done to the horn.  If the horn is damaged in transit to you, I would ask that you work with UPS to reclaim the cost of the damage. I will take that into account if you decide to return the horn. Shipping to the continental 48 states only. Don't miss this chance to own this classic instrument. The only reason accepted for a return is that the horn is not as described.  I have been as honest and straightforward as possible in describing the horn and providing detailed pictures.

PayPal only. Contact seller within 48hrs.  Sorry, no non-USA sales. Shipping to the lower 48 continental United States only. Horn will be shipped within 2 business days of receipt of the payment.. Please email me with any questions.  You certainly will own a classic piece of instrumental history. I already have it packed all ready for shipping, anticipating (hoping) that this beauty will be snappped up quickly by someone who knows the inherent value of the horn.

Please note:  On November 29, I have changed the bidding requirements so that bids are now accepted from Hawaii and Alaska.  In the case of a winning bidder from these two locations, the items would most likely be shipped using USPS Priority Mail, and shipping and handling (handling includes insurance) would not be the flat $75 fee for a winning bidder in one of the lower 48 Continental USA.  In the cases of a winning bidder from Hawaii or Alaska, the fees would be calculated upon the actual location in those states and the actual costs of shipping to those locations.  I am sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.  Please contact me if you have any questions.
