Brooks B67 Bicycle Saddle, Black, Excellent

We are selling some of the Brooks saddles that have been returned under the terms of our "six month unconditional guarantee." Most of these saddles are lightly used. We will try to supply good pictures and accurate descriptions. Returns privileges are very limited. Please make sure you want this saddle before you bid.

This is a Brooks B67 saddle with black leather top. It is in very good condition. The leather shows signs of break in which should quickly reform to a new rider. There are also some marks on the chassis where the saddle was clamped into a seatpost. A tensioning wrench is included.  The retail price of this saddle is $125.

The B67 is best suited to a rider, man or woman, who is in a very upright position, as on a hybrid, a comfort bike or an old British roadster.

The Brooks coil springs are very stiff. This is so that you don't bounce around during normal riding on smooth roads. No bouncing from pedaling. The springs react when your back wheel takes a sharp blow, like a pothole, expansion joint, curb bump, etc, on the road. The force of that blow against the riders weight will compress the springs and take the sharp edge off the blow. The result is that you don't really notice the springs but at the end of the day you are a little less fatigued because the hard bumps have been softened a little. The one down-side of the springs is that they add about 300g of weight to the saddle. If you have some other form of suspension on your bike, like a suspension seat post or rear suspension, then the springs would not have any effect because the other suspension would absorb the blows before they got to the springs.
