I've always used heat lamps with my chicks until this year. I purchased one based off the reviews saying it was good for 20 chicks. I quickly purchased a second! This is good for maybe 10 up to a week and then they grow! The chicks love this so much we have named it "The Mom". I can tell they feel safe and secure. I love that I can leave it on 24/7 and it doesn't get too hot!

So excited to use for newly hatched tiny bantams. But after a day I noticed all 9 huddled on top of each other and one was droopy, & not eating. I put the sick one back in incubator & it perked up after 24 hours. I added heat lamp until they get a bit larger. I want to invest in the next size larger soon. I think this is a great product, but the smaller one is difficult to adjust height. I'm fearful I will snap the plastic with the wrong move.

I wouldn't use anything else! My chicks are happy and safe. And they think it's a Jungle Gym :) I currently have 2, and wish I had more.

These are terrific! Better and far more dependable than heat lamps. Temp stays consistent, no chance of fire, and ducklings/chicks can move underneath when cold. Worth the money to purchase one of these if you are going to raise poultry.
